Redemptive Education Schools in Urban and Rural Garden Environments
The Center for Redemptive Education is prayerfully seeking to support new or existing Christ-centered schools in urban and rural settings by helping to develop school garden environments in which to teach pre-K through 8th grade students a holistic curriculum featuring food, physical education, nutrition, cooking, stewardship of resources, student industry and initiative (and of course, gardening!) with the goal of helping underserved students and their families discover and experience God’s design and purpose for their lives.
The curriculum will feature planting, care and harvesting of food crops from the school gardens; cooking and serving nutritious meals made from food from the gardens; physical exercise in and around the gardens.
To do this, we will seek donor funding, grant funding, and eventually revenues from student entrepreneurial enterprises to provide ongoing support for this program.
The goal for school year 2019-20 is to build donor funding, apply for grant funding, identify partner schools, and continue development of holistic school garden curriculum.
We prayerfully seek volunteer grant writers, potential partner schools, and potential donors.
GOAL= $15,000 for 2019-2020
